Racial Justice: Part 2 Webinar

Welcome to our 2017 Webinar Series! We offer FREE webinars, on topics ranging from racial justice, how to engage men, coordinated community response teams, and back to school prevention techniques all to help build knowledge and capacity in your services and advocacy. Our webinars are open to the public, so feel free to share with your friends and colleagues. These webinars are approved for VSP continuing education credit and usually last between 1-1 ½ hours.

Happy Women's History Month! Racial Justice: Part 2 is the second part of our two-part series on racial justice taught by Dr. Valerie Ekue. It will be on March 17, 2017, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. This webinar will include:

  • Participants will examine the historical impact of the feminist movement on women’s liberation.
  • Participants will examine the intersectionality of sexism, class oppression and racism which led to the black feminist movement.
  • Participants will gain increase knowledge around the color blindness approach which caused women of color to feel excluded from the feminist movement; thus experiencing increased exposure to domestic and sexual violence.
  • Participants will explore ways to address cultural humility and increase inclusivity for all survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
