Featured Image for Racial Justice: Part 1 Webinar

Welcome to our 2017 Webinar Series! We offer FREE webinars, on topics ranging from racial justice, how to engage men, coordinated community response teams, and back to school prevention techniques all to help build knowledge and capacity in your services and advocacy. Our webinars are open to the public, so feel free to share with your friends and colleagues. These webinars are approved for VSP continuing education credit and usually last between 1-1 ½ hours.

February and March will be a two-part series on racial justice by our own Dr. Valerie Ekue. Racial Justice: Part 1 will be on February 24, 2017, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. This webinar will include:

  • Participants will gain keen insights into racial and social justice as it relates to the women’s liberation movement.
  • Participants will understand how intentional and institutional racism impacts the lives of domestic and sexual assault survivors and how differently this looks for women of color who may experience different outcomes and encounter episodes of repeat victimization.
  • Participants will explore ways to increase social justice and equality for marginalized and unserved survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Participants will explore ways to address cultural diversity within the feminist movement and build collaborative working relationships; thus improving the lives of women of color moving forward.
