#SCSaysNoMore in October
In October, the SC Coalition against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and its member organizations across the state will organize events to promote awareness about the devastating public health crisis of domestic violence and facilitate campaigns to educate the citizens of South Carolina about the support and services that are available. Using the tag #SCSaysNoMore we will bring awareness to the numerous communities and individuals on how we as a coalition say no more to domestic violence.
Domestic violence is a community-wide public health issue that affects every individual and family in South Carolina. The latest data available (2013) ranks SC worst in the nation for women murdered by men* and it has been ranked in the top ten states every year since 1996. Domestic violence thrives when the community is silent; but if we take a stand and work together, we can end domestic and intimate partner violence.
Throughout the month, we will be releasing a series of social media materials including important statistics, pictograms, and calendars featuring South Carolina specific information. Using the below content and material.
