SCCADVASA’s Basic Training Course for Victim Service Providers is an intensive, interactive learning experience for new victim service professionals to gain foundational skills such as strengths-based services, advocacy for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and collaboration with allies. This Course is helpful for new victim service professionals and has been approved by the Department of Crime Victim Services Training, Provider Certification, and Statistical Analysis (CVST, formerly OVSEC).
Our basic training program is delivered through a combination of in-person and online training modules so that individuals can receive the majority of the training at whatever time and location is convenient for them. Participants must first complete the online portion of the training before attending the in-person training. Due to COVID-19, all in-person trainings will be virtual for the remainder of the year.
