POSITION SUMMARY

The Crisis Coordinator is responsible for the management and supervision of the crisis advocates, interns, and volunteers and provision of crisis intervention, advocacy, emotional support, and case management to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and teen dating violence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of the Crisis Program:
    • Supervise and train crisis advocates, interns, and volunteers which includes ensuring policy, procedural, and grant compliance and conducting check-ins, annual evaluations, case reviews, etc.
    • Maintain client records in accordance with VAWA, HIPAA, grant regulations, and federal and state laws.
    • Track and monitor programmatic data for reporting and statistical purposes.
    • Coordinate and facilitate crisis support groups.
    • Plan and execute domestic violence, sexual violence, and teen dating awareness activities and campaigns.
    • Collaborate with coordinators and the volunteer outreach manager to accomplish Safe Passage’s mission.
    • Schedule and maintain the hospital accompaniment calendar.
    • Participate in and lead, as needed, weekly agency staffing.
    • Work collaboratively with law enforcement, SANEs, medical facilities, the solicitor’s office, government agencies, and other community partners to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and teen dating violence.
    • Identify internal and external programmatic needs for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and teen dating violence.
    • Other duties/activities as assigned by management.
  • Case Management:
    • Using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to provide case management to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and teen dating violence.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay updated on best practices, developments, and trends related to trauma and victimization as it relates to domestic (intimate partner) violence, sexual violence, and teen dating violence.
    • Maintain and develop skills and knowledge by attending approved trainings and conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in a related field or more than five years of supervisory experience in a similar organization or agency.
  • Knowledge of trauma and the dynamics of family violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development; support group facilitation; multidisciplinary collaboration; community education and training; and advocating on behalf of survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, or teen dating violence.

Licenses/Other Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle which can be used during working hours and to travel to various locations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some nights, weekends, or holidays.
