40th Anniversary Graphic

Please find below a letter from SCCADVASA Executive Director Sara Barber that accompanied the release of this publication in September 2021.

Dear supporters, partners and friends,

I am delighted to share with you today a publication that memorializes and celebrates forty years of SCCADVASA serving as the collective voice promoting prevention of domestic and sexual violence in South Carolina.

What started with a small group of community leaders and grassroots activists from across the state in the 1980s, continues to grow and gain momentum in our work towards a South Carolina free from domestic and sexual violence.

While it would be impossible to include everyone who has been a critical part of this work within the pages of this document, we acknowledge and recognize the contributions and positive impact each and every individual has made over these past 40 years. It is their hard work, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to our combined vision of creating a South Carolina free from domestic and sexual violence that has made today possible. We are, and will remain, forever grateful.

We hope you enjoy reading our 40th Anniversary publication which highlights SCCADVASA’s history, our successes, the barriers and challenges we face, ongoing efforts in advocacy, education and collaboration, and our vision for the future.

Sincerely,

Sara Barber
SCCADVASA Executive Director
