This October, communities across South Carolina will come together to shine a light on domestic violence awareness and raise critical funds to support survivors.
Through Porch Lights 2026, SCCADVASA aims to raise $35,000 to support statewide advocacy, education, prevention efforts, and resources that help create safer communities across South Carolina.

Porch Lights is SCCADVASA’s annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month campaign. On Thursday, October 8, individuals, businesses, neighborhoods, and organizations across South Carolina will light luminaries and other displays as visible symbols of hope, support, and solidarity with survivors of domestic violence.
Domestic violence impacts individuals, families, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods across our state. By participating in Porch Lights, you help:
- Raise awareness about domestic violence and its impact
- Show support for survivors and their families
- Encourage conversations that lead to prevention and change
- Support SCCADVASA’s statewide advocacy and education efforts
- Help create safer communities across South Carolina

Make a donation and display a Porch Lights luminary on October 8. Luminary kits may be available through participating business partners while supplies last.

Businesses can help LIGHT the way by:
- Serving as a luminary distribution location
- Promoting the campaign to customers and employees
- Selling or distributing luminary kits
- Hosting fundraising activities
- Raising awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month
We are seeking business partners across South Carolina to help LIGHT the way for survivors by serving as luminary distribution locations, promoting the campaign, and raising awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Space and luminary inventory may be limited, so interested businesses are encouraged to apply early.

Join or Lead a Neighborhood Campaign
We are seeking neighborhood leaders, HOAs, apartment communities, and residential groups across South Carolina to help LIGHT the way for survivors. Participating communities will recruit neighbors, distribute luminaries, and encourage participation in the statewide lighting on October 8. Space and luminary inventory may be limited, so interested communities are encouraged to register early.
Groups are encouraged to participate together by:
• Setting a community fundraising goal
• Recruiting neighbors
• Distributing luminaries
• Lighting up their neighborhood on October 8

Create Your Own Display
No luminary kit? No problem.
Use luminaries, candles, lanterns, purple lights, or other creative displays to participate and help shine a light on this important cause.

- Light your display.

- Share it on social media.
- Tag @SCCADVASA.
- Use the hashtag #PorchLightsSC.
Help us fill South Carolina with messages of hope, support, and solidarity for survivors. Together, we can create a brighter future and a South Carolina free from domestic violence.
*Registration does not guarantee receipt of physical luminary kits. Luminary quantities are limited and will be distributed based on availability, geographic representation, and anticipated community engagement.
All registered businesses and community partners will receive a Porch Lights Partner Toolkit, including digital campaign materials, social media graphics, DIY luminary ideas, fundraising resources, and access to a custom Givebutter fundraising page to support participation and awareness efforts.
Whether or not physical luminary kits are available, we encourage all partners to join us in helping LIGHT the way for survivors on October 8.
